SOPHIE ZELMANI - THE OCEAN AND ME TOUR 2008. PRESS-RELEASE (Posted April 29th, 2008)

September 8th is the release date of a new album of Swedish singer/songwriter Sophie Zelmani. We can already unmask the poetic title - The Ocean and Me.

Sophie Zelmani reached quite a bit of global recognition on the debut in 1995, followed by a five-year-period of self chosen domestic work in native Sweden. More or less on demand she went to Switzer-land for a few shows in 2000. There was a buzz eventually leading into Germany at that time and the year to follow.

During the 00s the following has gradually grown. And whenever touring in Scandinavia, Sophie made sure to also visit the major cities Germany, Switzerland and Austria to meet the increasing number of fans.

In the coming autumn Sophie Zelmani will carry out “The Ocean and Me Tour” - this time around and for the first so far the tour will commence outside Sweden, and furthermore she will also take a significant step as to the size of venues.

Sophie picked Switzerland and Kongresshaus in Zürich for her opener. Among the number of venues the tour will later descend upon the classic and beautiful theatres Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and Schillertheater in Berlin. A total of eleven shows in the GSA countries followed by ten shows on hometurf in Sweden (out of which five only are announced at present).

The original Zelmani band will join, extended by one. Guitar and pedal steel player Johan Lindström who has taken part of the latest recording, and exquisitely so, will be with the band throughout the entire run of shows.
